It all started with a song...
I got a call several years ago with a request to use my music in a school documentary about colony collapse. The requested music didn't have anything to do with bees, so I asked if I could write a song that fit the project better. They said, "Sure, but we need it this afternoon." In less than 40 minutes, I wrote a song about bees, recorded it, and sent it to them. Then I forgot about it.
Recently, I heard a story about a person who traded a paper clip for a house using a game called Bigger and Better. It got me wondering if I could turn a song into a farm. I remembered the bee song, and the challenge was on. With your help and a little luck, we'll see if we can turn a song into a farm.
Here's the plan.
1. Turn a song about bees into real live bees and hives.
2. Acquire the knowledge and equipment to create a honey/beeswax business
3. Promote the business with music, songs, and an old time string band.
4. Create enough products, events and music to acquire a farm.
You are welcome to be part of this adventure. Step one will be getting some bees and other equipment to get the ball rolling.
